Tanzanian Pharmaceutical Cleanroom Project Completed

1. Brief introduction

The cleanroom project in Tanzania was successfully completed on 7th February 2024. The project was well received by our client and a group photo was taken on site. It was approved by Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and aims to improve the health of the local population, reduce dependence on imported medicines and medical equipment, relieve the pressure of medicine shortage, reduce the cost of imports and provide more employment opportunities for local residents.

2. Project overview

The project includes the cleanroom decoration of the medical glove production workshop, and the installation and commissioning of the air-cooled heat pump air-conditioning water system and the water and electricity system. The total building area is approximately 3142 square meters, and the area of cleanrooms conforming to GMP specifications and ISO standards is approximately 1086 square meters. The Shanghai Marya team fully understood and met the specific needs of the client and provided customized cleanroom solutions.

In this project, Shanghai Marya adopted advanced clean technology and equipment to ensure that the air quality in the cleanroom meets ISO standards. We strictly controlled the temperature, humidity, pressure and dust particles to ensure that the environment in the cleanroom meets GMP standards and the requirements of energy saving and cost reduction. As it is a milestone project in Tanzania’s health care construction, it has received attention and support from many Tanzanian government agencies.

Due to the remote location of the factory, many industrial materials cannot be supplied in time, and there is a significant difference of professional quality among the local workers. Therefore, Marya’s on-site technicians conducted centralized training for local workers with their solid technical strength, and selected a group of technical backbones for one-to-one guidance and training, which effectively accelerated the construction progress of the project and the successful completion and operation of the project.

At the later stage of project construction, Tanzanian Vice President Mr. Philip Mpango paid a special visit and delivered a speech. He highly praised Marya for our overcoming difficulties and making achievements in the construction of MSD cleanroom.

3. Project significance

The completion of this cleanroom project is of great significance to Tanzania’s health care industry. It will provide the country with a reliable supply of drugs and medical equipment, reduce dependence on imports, relieve drug shortages, reduce costs and create more jobs. It also has a positive impact on improving the health of the population, promoting economic development and achieving sustainable development goals.
